This week students are continuing or starting new projects. We have also been reading fun books for Fall and Halloween. Students have been enjoying these books.
Kindergarten students are mastering control of the mouse. Soon we will be working on some keyboarding skills!
1st grade students are working on typing their own logins to the computers. Most have done a fabulous job. We are also working on typing in Microsoft Word and using the tools within that program.
2nd grade students are working in Google Slides to create a slideshow all about themselves.
3rd grade students have started or will be starting their Bennington Heritage collaborative projects.
4th grade is starting their collaborative Famous Nebraskan projects.
5th grade will be starting a research project learning about states all around us.
6th grade is working on an outline for learning about countries around the world. We are finishing up those outlines and will start working together to create a slideshow to share with their classmates.
The past 2 days I have spent time with 400-500 other librarians throughout the state. It has been a great time to collaborate and hear new ideas to try in the library. I'm excited to share what I've learned with other teachers and students at Bennington Elementary.

Students are learning this week that they can reserve books they want using our Catalog system. All they need to do is sign in with their account! If a book they want is checked out, they can reserve the book. When the book is returned they can check on their account to see if the book is ready for them.
